03 - 30 ml heavy cream (⅛ cup)
04 - 0.25 g ground cinnamon (¼ teaspoon)
05 - 0.125 g ground nutmeg (⅛ teaspoon)
06 - 2.5 ml vanilla extract (½ teaspoon)
07 - Pinch of kosher salt

→ Garnishes

08 - Confectioner’s sugar
09 - Maple syrup
10 - Fresh berries

→ Stovetop Option

11 - 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
12 - 1-2 tablespoons butter
13 - 2 slices pre-cut white bread

# Steps:

01 - Preheat Air Fryer to 300°F. Set time to 8 minutes.
02 - In a shallow large bowl, beat egg yolk until smooth using a fork, whisk, or egg beater.
03 - Mix in the heavy cream until creamy. Add vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Blend until fully combined.
04 - Gently place each half slice of brioche bread into the mixture, soaking both sides for about 5-8 seconds.
05 - Place each soaked slice onto the Air Fryer tray. If using an Air Fryer tray, insert another tray at the bottom to catch any drips.
06 - Insert tray into the middle cooking chamber of the Air Fryer. Cook for 8 minutes, flipping slices during the last 3-4 minutes.
07 - Remove slices when the timer ends and let cool for 1 minute. Transfer to a serving plate, dust with confectioner’s sugar, drizzle with maple syrup, and add fresh berries if desired. Serve immediately.
08 - Prepare mixture following prior steps. Heat olive oil and butter in a non-stick pan over low heat. Place soaked bread slices into the pan and cook each side for 3-4 minutes. Follow garnish steps as listed.

# Notes and Tips:

01 - Thick brioche slices are ideal for French toast due to their soft interior and ability to hold the creamy mixture.
02 - Heavy cream can be substituted with half and half, whipping cream, or double cream. Note that double cream is richer.
03 - Ensure bread slices are soaked just enough to absorb the mixture, avoiding oversoaking for structural integrity.
04 - To achieve a crispier texture, add 1-2 minutes to the cooking time.
