Heat a skillet over medium heat.

Butter one side of each slice of bread.

On the unbuttered side, layer a slice of cheese, two slices of bacon, several slices of avocado, another slice of cheese, and top with another slice of bread, buttered side up.

Grill the sandwich in the skillet, pressing down slightly with a spatula. Cook until the bread is golden and the cheese begins to melt, about 3-5 minutes on each side.

Repeat for the second sandwich. Serve immediately, sliced in half.
