Pop some butter into a pan on medium heat. Keep the heat in check to avoid burning the tortilla while the inside warms up.

Lay a tortilla flat in the heated skillet. Spread the cheese generously, scatter bacon bits on top, and finish with a drizzle of ranch. Put another tortilla over everything.

Cook one side till golden. Flip it over, giving the second side a few minutes until both sides look toasty and crisp. This should take about 5 minutes altogether.

Take the quesadilla off the heat, set it on a cutting board, and let it cool briefly. Slice it into wedges and enjoy with shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, and maybe some extra ranch for dipping.
