Baked Apple Cider Donuts (Print Version)

Warm apple cider donuts with cinnamon, baked to a soft, tender texture with hints of nutmeg.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/3 cup apple cider
02 - 1 tsp white vinegar or apple cider vinegar
03 - 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
04 - 3 tbsp oil or almond butter, or applesauce or pumpkin puree for low fat
05 - 1/4 cup pure maple syrup, honey, or agave (or granulated sugar as an optional substitute)
06 - 1 cup flour (white, spelt, oat, or gluten-free all-purpose recommended)
07 - 1 tsp baking powder
08 - 1/4 tsp salt
09 - 1/2 tsp cinnamon
10 - 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

# Steps:

01 - Whisk together all liquid ingredients in a bowl.
02 - Grease a donut pan or mini muffin pan and preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
03 - Gradually stir remaining dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a batter forms.
04 - Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 8 minutes or until risen and cooked through.
05 - Let the donuts cool completely before removing from the pan. Optionally, top with cinnamon sugar coating or apple cider glaze.

# Notes and Tips:

01 - The recipe works well with white, spelt, oat, or certain brands of gluten-free all-purpose flour. Almond flour or whole wheat flour is not recommended.
02 - Serve donuts with a homemade pumpkin spice latte for a perfect pairing.
