Baked Churro Donuts Coating (Print Version)

Soft baked donuts with cinnamon sugar coating, golden on the outside, tender on the inside.

# Ingredients:

→ Donuts

01 - 1/4 cup butter, softened
02 - 1/4 cup vegetable oil
03 - 1/2 cup granulated sugar
04 - 1/4 cup brown sugar
05 - 2 large eggs
06 - 1 cup milk
07 - 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
08 - 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
09 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
10 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
11 - 2 ⅔ cups all-purpose flour

→ Topping

12 - 2 tablespoons butter, melted
13 - 1/3 cup granulated sugar
14 - 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease 15 donut tins in donut pans.
02 - In a large bowl, beat butter, oil, and sugars together until well combined. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Beat in milk until combined.
03 - Stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until fully combined.
04 - Spoon or pipe batter into prepared pans.
05 - Bake for 9–15 minutes, or until donuts spring back when lightly touched.
06 - Let donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes.
07 - Brush each donut lightly with melted butter.
08 - Combine cinnamon and sugar in a plastic bag. Add donuts one at a time and gently shake to coat.

# Notes and Tips:

01 - The topping amounts will make lightly coated donuts. For a heavier coating, double or triple the topping quantities.
02 - Drizzling the donuts with cajeta (similar to dulce de leche) is optional but enhances the flavor.
