Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).

Combine 1 tablespoon lemon juice with 1½ cups milk. Set aside.

Mix mashed bananas with 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Set aside.

Using a mixer, combine softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla extract, then mix until light and fluffy.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.

Add half of the dry mixture and half of the milk mixture to the creamed mixture. Mix gently until just combined.

Add the remaining dry and milk mixtures. Mix just until combined. Carefully fold in the banana mixture.
