01 -
Heat the oven to 400°F and cover a big baking sheet with foil. Place a safe-to-heat wire rack on top.
02 -
Stir the ground beef, 2 tablespoons of sauce, salt, and pepper together in a big bowl. Be gentle so the meat stays tender.
03 -
Split the beef into four pieces, around 4 ounces each. Flatten into patties that are 3 ½ inches wide and ½ inch thick.
04 -
Layer two bacon strips in a criss-cross shape. Place a patty in the middle, add a pineapple slice on top, and fold the bacon around it. Use toothpicks to hold it together.
05 -
Do the bacon wrapping for all four patties, then set them on the prepped baking sheet.
06 -
Let the burgers bake for 15 minutes. Take them out, brush on the extra sauce, and bake for 10-15 minutes more, or until they're 160°F inside.
07 -
While the burgers bake, you can toast your buns if you want.
08 -
Once out of the oven, let the burgers rest for 5 minutes. Serve on buns and add toppings like cheese, onions, or lettuce if you like.
