In a medium saucepan or pot with a lid, add the sliced carrots, brown sugar, butter, salt, and water. Give everything a quick stir to combine.

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce to low-medium heat. Cover with a lid and let the carrots cook for about 10 minutes, or until they're tender and most of the liquid has evaporated and transformed into a glossy glaze.

Remove the lid and continue cooking for 3-5 more minutes, stirring occasionally. This helps thicken the glaze and allows it to coat the carrots evenly.

Remove the pot from heat. If desired, sprinkle the glazed carrots with fresh chopped parsley for a pop of color and fresh flavor. Serve hot as a delicious side dish.
