02 - ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
03 - 1 bag caramel bits
04 - 1 box yellow cake mix
05 - 1½ sticks butter, cut into thin slices

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 350 ℉.
02 - Grease a 9x13 baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
03 - Spoon apple pie filling into the baking dish, and spread evenly over the bottom of the dish with a spatula. Sprinkle ground cinnamon over the pie filling, if using.
04 - Pour the bag of caramel bits on top of the apples.
05 - Sprinkle dry cake mix over the pie filling, spreading it completely to cover the apple filling.
06 - Place pats of butter in neat rows over the cake mix, and bake uncovered for 45 to 50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly.

# Notes and Tips:

01 - If you can't find caramel bits, use wrapped caramel candies sliced in half.
02 - Keep all layers separate and do not mix the ingredients in the baking pan.
03 - To halve the recipe, use 1 can of pie filling and bake in an 8x8 baking dish.
