Caramelized Candied Oranges Cranberries (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 10 large or 20 small mandarin oranges
02 - 3 cups sugar
03 - 3 tablespoons St-Germain or Grand Marnier
04 - 1 cup fresh cranberries

# Instructions:

01 - Peel oranges and remove all the white pith.
02 - Bring 3 cups of sugar and 3 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat to dissolve the sugar. Stir in St-Germain or Grand Marnier and add the peeled oranges. Remove the pot from heat, cover, and let sit overnight (up to 24 hours).
03 - Preheat the broiler and line a rimmed baking pan with foil. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the oranges to the pan while keeping the syrup in the pot. Broil the oranges for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned in spots. If desired, this step can be skipped as the oranges are still flavorful without broiling.
04 - Add the fresh cranberries to the syrup in the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer until the berries soften and begin to pop.
05 - Spoon the candied cranberries over the broiled mandarins. Serve immediately, chill in the refrigerator, or leave at room temperature for a few hours before serving.

# Notes:

01 - The syrup resting time is not included in the total preparation time.
02 - This dish pairs wonderfully as a topping for yogurt or desserts.
