Cheesy Potato Kielbasa (Print Version)

Creamy, cheesy potatoes paired with savory sausage, baked golden-bubbly for the ultimate comfort dish.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 pound kielbasa sausage, sliced thin
02 - 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
03 - 3 cups peeled and diced russet potatoes
04 - ¼ cup butter, unsalted
05 - ¼ cup all-purpose flour
06 - ½ cup heavy whipping cream
07 - 1½ cups milk (2% preferred)
08 - 1 can (284ml) cheddar cheese soup
09 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
10 - 2 teaspoons minced garlic
11 - ½ teaspoon cumin powder
12 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder
13 - ½ teaspoon cracked black pepper
14 - 1 teaspoon salt

# Steps:

01 - Set the oven to 350°F and grease a large baking dish (9x13 inches) with cooking spray.
02 - Put the chopped potatoes in a pot of boiling water for 7 minutes, or until they're tender. Drain and spread in your greased dish.
03 - In a skillet, add olive oil and cook the sausage slices until they’re nice and browned, about 5 minutes. Scatter over the potatoes.
04 - Using the same pan, melt the butter with the flour. Stir it until the mix looks smooth and not powdery.
05 - Stir in garlic, milk, heavy cream, cheddar soup, and all the seasonings (cumin, garlic powder, salt, black pepper). Let it thicken for about 3-4 minutes.
06 - Take the sauce off the heat and mix in the shredded cheddar until it has completely melted.
07 - Pour the cheesy sauce on top of the sausage and potatoes. Bake for 30 minutes, or until it’s all bubbly and golden.
