Cheesy Sloppy Toast (Print Version)

Savory beef, melty cheese, and toasted Texas bread come together in one delicious, kid-friendly dish.

# Ingredients:

→ Sloppy Joe Filling

01 - 2 lbs of ground beef
02 - 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
03 - 1 tablespoon of mustard
04 - ½ of a yellow onion, finely chopped
05 - 15 oz of tomato sauce
06 - 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
07 - 2 teaspoons of beef bouillon powder
08 - 1 cup of ketchup
09 - A pinch of salt for seasoning
10 - Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

→ Bread and Toppings

11 - Slices of cheese
12 - Thick slices of Texas toast
13 - Mayonnaise spread

# Steps:

01 - Throw the chopped onions and ground beef into a big skillet set to medium-high. Sprinkle with beef bouillon powder, some salt, and a bit of pepper. Cook it until the beef turns brown. Add the garlic last, cooking for just about 30 seconds, then get rid of any extra grease.
02 - Pour in the tomato sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, and mustard. Stir until everything's blended well and let it gently bubble on low to medium heat.
03 - Spread a light mayo layer on one side of a bread slice. Place it mayo-side down in a skillet on medium heat. Stack a cheese piece, some of the beef mixture, another cheese piece, and a second bread slice (mayo-side faces up). Flip and cook until both sides are golden and crispy.
04 - Serve nice and warm for an ultimate Sloppy Joe delight.

# Notes and Tips:

01 - Getting the bread toasted evenly ensures each sandwich turns out perfectly crunchy.
