Cherry Chocolate Chewy Cookies (Print Version)

Soft, chewy bites filled with sweet maraschino cherries and smooth chocolate chips. Great any time!

# Ingredients:

01 - Softened unsalted butter, 1 cup
02 - 1 cup white sugar
03 - 1 packed cup of brown sugar
04 - 2 big eggs
05 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
06 - 3 cups plain flour
07 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
08 - Half a teaspoon of salt
09 - One cup of semisweet chocolate chips
10 - Drained and minced maraschino cherries, 1 cup

# Steps:

01 - Turn on your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lay some parchment paper over your baking trays.
02 - Grab a big bowl and beat together the soft butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until it’s fluffy and lighter in color.
03 - Crack in one egg at a time and beat, then toss in the vanilla extract and combine.
04 - In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, salt, and baking soda. Slowly work this mix into your butter base.
05 - Fold the chopped maraschino cherries and chocolate chips gently into the dough.
06 - Scoop tablespoon-sized drops of dough and spread them onto your prepared trays.
07 - Bake in the heated oven for around 10-12 minutes, until the edges turn light golden brown.
08 - Let the cookies rest on the trays for a couple of minutes. Then move them over to cooling racks to finish cooling completely.
