# Ingredients:

01 - 2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
02 - 4 cloves garlic, minced
03 - ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
04 - ½ cup whole milk, warmed
05 - ½ cup sour cream
06 - 2 teaspoons salt
07 - 1 teaspoon black pepper
08 - Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

# Steps:

01 - Place the peeled and chunked russet potatoes into a medium saucepan and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat and simmer until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork, about 15-20 minutes.
02 - Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the saucepan. Add garlic, butter, warmed milk, sour cream, salt, and pepper.
03 - Mash the potatoes with a potato masher until smooth and creamy.
