Easy Apple Pie Crumb Topping (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Crust

01 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
03 - ¾ teaspoon salt
04 - ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
05 - ⅔ cup canola oil
06 - 3 tablespoons milk

→ Apple Filling

07 - 4 cups apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
08 - ⅔ cup granulated sugar
09 - 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
10 - Dash of lemon juice
11 - Dash of salt
12 - 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 400℉. Spray the pie plate with an even coating of cooking spray. Add flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt directly into the pie plate. Stir with a fork until combined.
02 - In a small bowl, combine milk and canola oil. Pour the mixture over the dry ingredients in the pie plate and stir to combine. Reserve ⅓ of the combined dough for the crumb topping. Press the remaining dough into the pie plate, ensuring it covers the sides.
03 - Place the apples and sugar in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for 2 minutes. Add the flour, then microwave for an additional 2 minutes. Stir in lemon juice, salt, and cinnamon until evenly combined.
04 - Pour the prepared apple filling into the crust. Scatter the reserved dough pieces evenly across the top to create the crumb topping.
05 - Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

# Notes:

01 - Using frozen apples eliminates the need for peeling and reduces prep time.
02 - Placing the pie on a baking sheet prevents oven messes in case of bubbling over.
03 - A pie shield can help prevents the edges of the crust from overbaking.
