French Toast Bacon (Print Version)

Golden toast stuffed with bacon and sweet cream mixture, balancing salty and sugary goodness.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 8 slices of stale white bread
02 - 4 teaspoons of butter
03 - 4 eggs
04 - 8 cooked slices of bacon
05 - 1/2 cup of milk
06 - 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
07 - 1/3 cup of brown sugar, packed tightly
08 - 4 ounces of softened cream cheese
09 - Vegetable oil

# Steps:

01 - Combine the cream cheese with the brown sugar in a medium-sized bowl. Stir until smooth and fluffy.
02 - Spread the cream cheese mixture on one side of each piece of bread. Take two pieces and sandwich them together with two bacon slices inside, leaving the cream cheese sides facing inward. Make four sandwiches using the same steps.
03 - In a shallow dish, whisk eggs, milk, and vanilla until the mixture looks smooth and combined.
04 - Dip each side of the sandwiches into the egg mixture, but don’t let it soak for too long or it’ll get too soggy.
05 - Warm up a large griddle or nonstick pan over medium heat. Add a bit of butter and some oil. Cook each sandwich until golden on the first side. Flip and repeat for the other side, adding butter and oil as needed.
06 - Cut the sandwiches in half and, if you'd like, drizzle some maple syrup on top before serving.

# Notes and Tips:

01 - Using bread that’s a bit stale makes the sandwiches sturdier and helps them hold up better without too much sogginess.
02 - Cook the bacon beforehand so it’s already crispy and ready to go when you start making the sandwiches.
