Fried Bananas (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 4 American bananas, overripe
02 - Oil, for deep frying

→ Frying Batter

03 - 1 egg white
04 - 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
05 - 1/4 cup cornstarch
06 - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
07 - 1/2 cup water, ice cold
08 - 1 tablespoon oil

# Instructions:

01 - Cut the bananas into 1-inch (2.5 cm) pieces and set aside.
02 - In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients for the Frying Batter together. Stir well to ensure the batter is smooth. Gently fold the bananas into the batter.
03 - Heat a small pot with 2-3 inches (5-7 cm) of oil over high heat. The oil is ready when fully heated and a swirl of smoke rises from the surface.
04 - Gently drop each piece of banana into the hot oil. Deep-fry the bananas in batches, turning them over so both sides become golden brown and crispy.
05 - Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried bananas from the oil, and drain them on a plate lined with paper towels. Repeat until all the bananas are used up. To serve, dust with powdered sugar, or serve with maple syrup and chocolate sauce.

# Notes:

01 - For extra crispy batter, add 2 tablespoons of rice flour
02 - Can be served with ice cream, honey, or caramel sauce
03 - Best served immediately while hot and crispy
