Gravy Biscuit Casserole (Print Version)

Layers of tender biscuits, hearty sausage, and creamy gravy make this cozy, crowd-pleasing breakfast dish.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Items

01 - 1 lb ground pork or sausage of your choice
02 - 2 cans (15 oz each) of sausage country-style gravy
03 - 1 teaspoon of freshly cracked black pepper
04 - 2 packs (16 oz each) of jumbo butter biscuits
05 - 3 tablespoons butter, melted

# Steps:

01 - Set your oven to 375°F. Grab a 9 x 13-inch pan and grease it well to stop sticking.
02 - Slice up the first pack of biscuits into quarters. Line the bottom of your dish evenly, then bake for 12–15 minutes to pre-cook just a bit.
03 - In a skillet, crumble and cook the sausage or pork until browned. Drain off extra grease, then layer this meat onto the cooked biscuit base.
04 - Pour the sausage gravy into the same skillet. Heat it over medium while stirring to warm it through. Let it get a little golden for added taste, then pour it over the meat layer in your dish.
05 - Add fresh black pepper to taste by sprinkling it over the top of the gravy layer.
06 - Cut up the last pack of biscuits and spread them across the top evenly.
07 - Bake uncovered for 10 minutes first. Then, cover the dish with foil and let it bake for a further 15 minutes.
08 - Once out of the oven, brush the tops with melted butter to give them a perfect golden shine.

# Notes and Tips:

01 - Ground pork can save you some money over store-bought sausage, and you can season it however you like.
