01 -
In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, olive oil, dried Italian herbs, and onion powder until it’s smooth.
02 -
Heat up a large nonstick skillet (10 to 12 inches) on medium.
03 -
Brush one side of two bread slices with the butter sauce and lay them in the warm pan, butter side touching the skillet.
04 -
Spread 2 spoonfuls of pizza sauce on each slice in the pan. Add a slice of provolone, 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella, 12 pepperoni slices, another layer of mozzarella (1/4 cup), and finish with one more slice of provolone. Place the second bread slice on top, buttered side facing up.
05 -
Cook each side of the sandwich for 3-4 minutes, flipping carefully and keeping an eye out to avoid burning.
06 -
Cut the sandwiches in half and serve them immediately while the cheese is still gooey.
