Grilled Pizza Cheese (Print Version)

Crispy bread stuffed with melty mozzarella, provolone, and zesty pepperoni makes a super quick pizza-inspired sandwich.

# Ingredients:

01 - 6 tablespoons of melted salted butter (sweet cream)
02 - 2 cups mozzarella cheese, freshly grated (1/2 cup per sandwich)
03 - 1 teaspoon of onion powder
04 - 8 tablespoons of pizza sauce
05 - 48 slices of regular pepperoni (12 pieces per sandwich)
06 - 8 slices of soft Italian sandwich bread
07 - 8 slices of smoked provolone cheese
08 - 1 tablespoon of olive oil (extra virgin)
09 - 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, dried

# Steps:

01 - In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, olive oil, dried Italian herbs, and onion powder until it’s smooth.
02 - Heat up a large nonstick skillet (10 to 12 inches) on medium.
03 - Brush one side of two bread slices with the butter sauce and lay them in the warm pan, butter side touching the skillet.
04 - Spread 2 spoonfuls of pizza sauce on each slice in the pan. Add a slice of provolone, 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella, 12 pepperoni slices, another layer of mozzarella (1/4 cup), and finish with one more slice of provolone. Place the second bread slice on top, buttered side facing up.
05 - Cook each side of the sandwich for 3-4 minutes, flipping carefully and keeping an eye out to avoid burning.
06 - Cut the sandwiches in half and serve them immediately while the cheese is still gooey.

# Notes and Tips:

01 - For easier melting, let the cheese sit out for 15-20 minutes before making sandwiches.
02 - If you’ve got a panini press, that’ll work instead of a skillet.
03 - You can tweak your skillet’s heat to avoid any burning mishaps.
