Hamburger Steaks Rich Gravy (Print Version)

Seasoned beef patties meet savory brown gravy with mushrooms and onions for a comforting stovetop dinner.

# Ingredients:

→ Beef and Seasonings

01 - 1 ½ pounds ground beef
02 - ½ cup yellow onion finely diced
03 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
04 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
05 - 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
06 - Salt to taste
07 - Black pepper to taste

08 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
09 - 1 yellow onion thinly sliced
10 - 1 cup baby bella mushrooms thinly sliced
11 - 2 packets instant brown gravy mix
12 - 2 cups water

# Steps:

01 - In a large mixing bowl, add both gravy packets and water, then whisk until well combined with no clumps. Set aside.
02 - In another large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, finely diced onions, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to evenly distribute seasonings.
03 - Shape the mixture into 5 evenly sized patties.
04 - In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil, sliced onions, and mushrooms. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened. Move vegetables to one side of the skillet.
05 - Place patties into the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
06 - If excess grease is present, drain it from the skillet. Reduce heat to medium and add the prepared gravy mixture to the skillet. Stir until the gravy thickens to desired consistency.
07 - Serve the hamburger steaks and gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles. Enjoy!
