Hawaiian Cheese Grilled (Print Version)

Crispy golden crust, layered with ham, pineapple bites, and gooey mozzarella—a fun tropical comfort bite.

# Ingredients:

→ Core Ingredients

01 - 1 slice of canned pineapple or a few pineapple bits
02 - 2-3 thin pieces of ham
03 - Dried oregano for sprinkling
04 - Two slices of sourdough bread
05 - Your choice of shredded mozzarella or another type of cheese
06 - 2 tablespoons of salted butter

# Steps:

01 - Take a piece of sourdough bread and layer it with ham and pineapple. Sprinkle some dried oregano and cover it all with a healthy handful of shredded cheese. Place the second slice of bread on top, then sprinkle extra cheese over it if you’d like.
02 - Melt salted butter in a cast iron pan or nonstick skillet over medium heat until it’s fully melted.
03 - Put the sandwich in the heated pan, keeping the side with extra cheese facing upward. Let it cook for about 3-5 minutes until the bottom gets golden and crispy.
04 - Carefully turn the sandwich so the cheesy side is now touching the pan. Let this side cook for another 3-5 minutes until the outside turns golden and crunchy, and the cheese inside is gooey and melted.
05 - Move the finished sandwich to a plate and serve it nice and hot.

# Notes and Tips:

01 - A panini press or sandwich grill can make cooking this easier if you have one available.
