Classic Southern Banana Pudding (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Pudding

01 - 3/4 cup sugar
02 - 1/4 cup flour
03 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
04 - 3 cups milk
05 - 3 eggs
06 - 2 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Layers

07 - 1 box (8 oz) vanilla wafers
08 - 4 bananas, sliced

# Instructions:

01 - Mix sugar, flour, and salt in saucepan. Whisk in milk and cook over medium heat until thickened and bubbly. Reduce heat and cook 2 more minutes.
02 - Whisk eggs in small bowl. Temper eggs with hot mixture, then add back to pan. Heat to gentle boil for 2 minutes.
03 - Add vanilla and remove from heat. Cool for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
04 - In 8-inch square pan, layer 25 vanilla wafers, half the banana slices, and half the pudding. Repeat layers, ending with pudding.
05 - Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate minimum 4 hours or overnight. Top with crushed wafers before serving.

02 - Serve cold
