Insert the trivet into a 6-quart or larger Instant Pot and add 1 cup of cool water.

Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly and pierce each several times with the tines of a fork.

Place the sweet potatoes on the trivet. Seal the Instant Pot lid and pressure cook on high for the appropriate time based on potato size: 13 minutes for small (2 inches or less), 18 minutes for medium (2-3 inches), or 25 minutes for large (3 inches or more).

Allow the Instant Pot to naturally release pressure for 10 minutes, then press the quick-release button and carefully remove the lid.
