Knock You Naked Bars (Print Version)

Soft caramel and chocolate bars baked over a buttery cookie base. Ideal for gatherings and special treats.

# Ingredients:

→ Bars

01 - 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
03 - 1 teaspoon salt
04 - 1 cup softened butter
05 - 3/4 cup granulated sugar
06 - 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
08 - 2 eggs
09 - 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

→ Caramel Sauce

10 - 5 ounces evaporated milk
11 - 14-ounce bag of caramels
12 - 1/2 cup peanut butter

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
02 - Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.
03 - In a large mixing bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually mix in the flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
04 - Spread half of the cookie dough into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven.
05 - While the cookie dough base is baking, melt caramels and evaporated milk in a double boiler. Once melted, stir in the peanut butter and mix thoroughly.
06 - Spread the caramel mixture over the baked cookie dough base. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining cookie dough over the caramel layer.
07 - Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is light golden brown. Let cool before serving.

01 - These bars are best served after fully cooling to ensure the layers set properly.
