Kielbasa Rice Skillet (Print Version)

One skillet combines smoky kielbasa, fluffy rice, and sweet peas for a hearty dinner that’s done in 20 minutes.

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 cups water
02 - ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
03 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder
04 - ½ teaspoon paprika
05 - 1 teaspoon dried minced onions
06 - 2 cups instant rice
07 - ½ teaspoon sea salt
08 - 1 pound smoked sausage
09 - 1 cup frozen peas
10 - 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

# Steps:

01 - Cut the sausage into chunky pieces around ½ inch thick. Toss them into a big pan on medium heat until they get nice and browned.
02 - Throw in all the other ingredients, give it a good mix, and get it bubbling over medium-high heat.
03 - Turn the heat low, cover it up, and let it simmer. Stir now and then until the rice is soft and most of the liquid’s gone.

# Notes and Tips:

01 - Put in a dab of butter at the end to make it creamy, or sprinkle some shredded cheese for a cheesy twist.
02 - Feel free to swap in turkey, chicken, or any cooked sausage you’ve got.
03 - Depending on your pan, you might need a splash of oil to fry the sausage without it sticking.
