Onion Chicken and Rice (Print Version)

Golden-topped chicken, creamy white rice, and sweet onions baked into a hearty, cheesy meal.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 lb boneless chicken breast, cut into cubes
02 - 1 1/2 cups shredded Gruyere cheese
03 - 1 1/2 cups uncooked white rice
04 - 1 (10.5 oz) can of French onion soup
05 - 1 1/4 cup butter, cut into pieces
06 - 1 1/2 cans of water (measure with the soup can)
07 - 1 cup crispy French fried onions
08 - 1 (1 oz) packet of dry onion soup mix

# Steps:

01 - Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the rice evenly into a 13×9-inch dish. Mix in water, the French onion soup, and chicken chunks. Sprinkle the dry soup mix across the top.
02 - Cover the dish with foil. Bake it for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the rice has softened and the chicken is fully cooked. Add Gruyere cheese as a topping before baking if desired.
03 - Take the dish from the oven. Sprinkle fried onions over everything, then pop it back in for another 5 minutes to get them crunchy.
