French Onion Rice Dish (Print Version)

Golden bubbly cheese, tender chicken, and sweet onions baked on top of creamy rice, inspired by Southern flavors.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 1/2 cups uncooked white rice
02 - 1 can (10.5 oz) of French onion soup
03 - 1 1/2 cans of water (use the empty soup can to measure)
04 - 1/4 cup of butter, cut into small pieces
05 - 1 lb. chicken breast, cubed and boneless
06 - 1 1/2 cups of Gruyere cheese, shredded
07 - 1 packet (1 oz) of dry onion soup mix
08 - 1 cup crispy French fried onions

# Steps:

01 - Turn on your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the rice evenly in a 13×9-inch pan. Mix in cubed chicken, French onion soup, and water. Sprinkle the dry onion soup mix evenly over the mixture.
02 - Cover the casserole with shredded Gruyere cheese and seal it with foil. Bake for about 1 hour and 15 minutes, making sure the rice is soft and the chicken is fully cooked.
03 - Take the casserole out of the oven and remove the foil. Scatter the French fried onions over the top and pop it back in for 5 minutes to get them nice and crunchy.
