Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until melted.

Season salmon with salt and pepper. Place in hot pan skin-side up and cook 3-5 minutes until golden. Flip and cook 3-4 minutes more until internal temperature reaches 145°F.

Transfer salmon to a plate and cover with foil to keep warm. Reduce heat to medium.

Mix orange juice, honey, soy sauce, garlic and cornstarch mixture if using. Add to hot pan and cook until thickened, about 30-60 seconds.

Return salmon to pan and coat with glaze. Garnish with orange slices if desired.
