Pear Cinnamon Oat Crisp (Print Version)

Juicy pears and spices baked under a golden oat-walnut topping. Perfect served warm, especially with ice cream.

# Ingredients:

→ Filling

01 - 5 cups pears, cubed (about 5–6 ripe pears)
02 - ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
03 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
04 - ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
05 - ¼ cup light brown sugar or coconut sugar
06 - ¼ cup water
07 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch or arrowroot powder

→ Topping

08 - ½ cup all-purpose flour or 1:1 gluten-free flour
09 - ½ cup oats
10 - ⅓ cup light brown sugar or coconut sugar
11 - ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
12 - 1 cup walnuts, chopped
13 - Pinch of salt
14 - ⅓ cup butter, melted

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 11-inch oven-safe skillet or a 7×10-inch baking dish.
02 - In a large bowl, combine all filling ingredients. Toss until pears are evenly coated, then pour into the prepared baking dish.
03 - In another bowl, mix together the flour, oats, sugar, cinnamon, walnuts, and salt. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture forms a crumbly texture.
04 - Sprinkle the topping evenly over the pear mixture. Bake for 45–60 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
05 - Let cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm as-is, or top with ice cream or whipped cream.
