Pink Valentine's Cupcakes (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cupcakes

01 - 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
02 - 3/4 cup granulated sugar
03 - 1 tsp baking soda
04 - 1/2 tsp baking powder
05 - 1/4 tsp salt
06 - 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
07 - 1 large egg
08 - 3/4 cup buttermilk
09 - 1/2 cup vegetable oil
10 - 1 tsp vanilla extract
11 - 1 tbsp red food coloring

→ Frosting

12 - 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
13 - 3 cups powdered sugar
14 - 2 tbsp heavy cream
15 - 1 tsp vanilla extract
16 - Pink food coloring (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Line cupcake tin with paper liners.
02 - Whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder.
03 - In separate bowl, mix egg, buttermilk, oil, vanilla, and red food coloring until smooth.
04 - Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet until just combined. Fill liners 2/3 full. Bake 18-20 minutes.
05 - Beat butter until smooth, gradually add powdered sugar, then cream and vanilla. Add pink coloring if desired.

01 - Use gel food coloring for better color
02 - Can be made one day ahead
03 - Optional almond extract in frosting
