Butter the inside of a large mixing bowl or spray with cooking spray. Add the cereal and set aside.

Begin to melt the butter in a medium-large saucepan over low heat.

Add the marshmallows to the saucepan and stir occasionally until about 75% are melted.

Remove the pan from heat and continue stirring, smashing the marshmallows with a spatula until fully melted and smooth.

Pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the cereal in the bowl.

Butter your hands and the inside of a 2 ½ to 3-inch star-shaped cookie cutter. Press the cereal mixture into the cutter, filling all points. Push the treat out of the cutter and repeat until all treats are formed.
