McDonald's Sausage Egg Cheese (Print Version)

Whip up Sausage, Egg & Cheese Muffins at home—soft eggs, flavorful sausage, gooey cheese, and toasted muffin halves.

# Ingredients:

01 - 4 large eggs
02 - 4 slices of cheese (choose cheddar, American, or any favorite)
03 - 4 toasted English muffins, split in half
04 - 4 sausage patties
05 - Salt and pepper, as needed
06 - Cooking oil or butter

# Steps:

01 - Use butter on the insides of the muffins and toast them on a hot pan until golden. Put them aside for now.
02 - On medium heat, fry the sausages in the pan until they're cooked through and browned, about 3–4 minutes per side. Remove and keep them aside.
03 - Put a greased ring mold or mason jar lid on the pan. Crack one egg into it. Let it cook for around 2–3 minutes, or until the whites are set and yolks are how you like them.
04 - Start with the bottom muffin half, lay a slice of cheese on it, stack a sausage patty, place the cooked egg on top, then close with the other muffin half.
05 - Enjoy them right away or wrap them up to reheat later.

# Notes and Tips:

01 - Press down on the sausage patties slightly before cooking. This helps them cook evenly and makes them fit better.
02 - Fresh eggs work best for both looks and taste in your sandwich.
03 - Stack cheese first, then sausage, and finally the egg. The heat from the sausage and egg melts the cheese perfectly.
