Southern Style Blueberry Cobbler (Print Version)

Sweet blueberries bake under golden cinnamon sugar for a Southern-style treat best served warm.

# Ingredients:

01 - 3 cups fresh blueberries
02 - ½ cup butter, melted
03 - 1 cup white sugar
04 - ½ cup brown sugar
05 - 1 cup self-rising flour
06 - 1 cup whole milk
07 - ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
08 - Ground cinnamon, to taste

# Steps:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the melted butter into the bottom of a 7x11-inch baking dish and place it in the oven until fully melted.
02 - In a large bowl, add the blueberries and ½ cup to 1 cup of white sugar. Toss until the blueberries are evenly coated in sugar and set aside.
03 - In a medium bowl, combine self-rising flour, ½ cup white sugar, brown sugar, whole milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk together until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.
04 - Remove the casserole dish from the oven. Pour the flour mixture over the melted butter, then gently spoon the sugared blueberries on top. Do not stir. Sprinkle a light amount of ground cinnamon over the top.
05 - Bake the dish at 350°F (175°C) for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
06 - Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

# Notes and Tips:

01 - You may substitute fresh blueberries with frozen ones (thawed beforehand) or canned fruit filling (21-ounce can).
