Place apple cider, cranberries, ground cloves, allspice berries, star anise, cinnamon sticks, and orange slices into a medium saucepan.

Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to the lowest heat setting as soon as it reaches a boil.

Cover saucepan and simmer on low heat for 60 minutes, stirring gently every 20 minutes.

Remove pan from heat and stir in the brandy.
