Decadent Strawberry Chocolate Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cake

01 - 2 cups granulated sugar
02 - 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
03 - 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
04 - 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
05 - 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
06 - 1 teaspoon salt
07 - 2 large eggs, room temperature
08 - 1 cup whole milk
09 - 1/2 cup vegetable oil
10 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
11 - 1 cup boiling water

→ Frosting

12 - 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
13 - 2 cups powdered sugar
14 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
15 - 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted and cooled

→ Ganache

16 - 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
17 - 3/4 cup heavy cream

→ Garnish

18 - 24 ounces strawberries

# Instructions:

01 - Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round pans.
02 - Mix dry ingredients. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes. Stir in boiling water. Pour into pans and bake 30-35 minutes.
03 - Beat butter until fluffy. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix in cooled melted chocolate until smooth.
04 - Pour hot cream over chocolate. Let stand 30 seconds, then stir until smooth. Cool 5 minutes.
05 - Layer cake with frosting and sliced strawberries. Pour ganache over top. Decorate with whole strawberries.
