Healthy Date Tahini Treats (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the Halva

01 - 200g Medjool dates (or any soft dates)
02 - 180ml tahini
03 - 1/2 tsp cardamom (optional)
04 - Pinch of salt
05 - 20g pistachios, roughly chopped

# Instructions:

01 - Add the dates, tahini, cardamom, and a pinch of salt to a food processor. Blend until you have a smooth, well-combined mixture with no large chunks of dates remaining.
02 - Transfer the mixture into silicone molds or a lined loaf tin, pressing down firmly. Sprinkle the chopped pistachios on top, gently pressing them into the surface.
03 - Place in the freezer for 1 hour to firm up. If using a loaf tin, remove after chilling and slice into squares or rectangles.
04 - Keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. The halva can be enjoyed straight from the fridge.

# Notes:

01 - If your dates aren't soft enough, soak them in warm water for 10 minutes, then drain well before processing.
02 - Use a runny, good-quality tahini for the best results and easiest blending.
03 - This healthier version of halva has more fiber and healthy fats than traditional recipes.
