Preheat oven to 190°C. Lightly grease a 20 x 20 cm baking pan with non-stick spray.

In a medium mixing bowl, blend melted butter with granulated sugar until fully incorporated.

Stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt using a fork until mixture forms coarse crumbs.

Remove 175 ml of the crumb mixture and set aside for the topping.

Evenly press the remaining crumb mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.

Spread cherry pie filling evenly over the crust base.

Sprinkle the reserved crumb mixture evenly over the cherry filling. Bake for 23–25 minutes or until topping is golden brown.

Allow bars to cool in the pan before cutting and serving.
