Cherry Pie Bars Shortbread Crust (Print-Friendly Version)

# Ingredients You'll Need:

→ Shortbread Crust and Topping

01 - 115 g unsalted butter, melted
02 - 100 g granulated sugar
03 - 190 g all-purpose flour
04 - 2.5 ml baking soda
05 - 2.5 ml baking powder
06 - 1.25 ml fine salt

→ Filling

07 - 475 ml cherry pie filling

# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat oven to 190°C. Lightly grease a 20 x 20 cm baking pan with non-stick spray.
02 - In a medium mixing bowl, blend melted butter with granulated sugar until fully incorporated.
03 - Stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt using a fork until mixture forms coarse crumbs.
04 - Remove 175 ml of the crumb mixture and set aside for the topping.
05 - Evenly press the remaining crumb mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
06 - Spread cherry pie filling evenly over the crust base.
07 - Sprinkle the reserved crumb mixture evenly over the cherry filling. Bake for 23–25 minutes or until topping is golden brown.
08 - Allow bars to cool in the pan before cutting and serving.
