Take each slice and spread butter over one side generously.

In a cool pan, start with one buttered side facing down, then layer the cheese, and finish with the other slice on top (buttered side up).

Turn on low-to-medium heat. Let it cook gently so the bread doesn't burn while the cheese warms up.

Let one side sizzle for 3-4 minutes until it looks golden. Then, carefully flip it over.

Give the other side about 2-3 minutes to toast. The cheese should be nice and melted by now.
