Grilled Cheese Pizza (Print Version)

Golden crust with gooey mozzarella, tasty provolone, and bold pepperoni makes this pizza-style sandwich a favorite for all ages.

# Ingredients:

01 - 8 slices of Italian sandwich bread
02 - 6 tablespoons of melted salted butter (sweet cream)
03 - 1 tablespoon of olive oil (extra virgin)
04 - 1 teaspoon of onion powder
05 - 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning (dried)
06 - 48 slices of pepperoni (12 slices for each sandwich)
07 - 2 cups of grated mozzarella (1/2 cup for each sandwich)
08 - 8 slices of smoked provolone cheese
09 - 8 tablespoons of pizza sauce

# Steps:

01 - In a little bowl, mix together the melted butter, olive oil, Italian seasoning, and onion powder. Stir it up until it's combined well.
02 - Put a nonstick skillet (10-12 inches) on medium heat.
03 - Take 2 slices of bread. Brush one side of each with the butter mix and lay them in the skillet, buttered side facing the pan.
04 - Spread 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on the bread slices in the skillet. Layer it up: first a slice of provolone, then 1/4 cup mozzarella, next 12 pepperoni slices, another 1/4 cup mozzarella, then a provolone slice. Add another slice of bread on top, buttered side up.
05 - Let each sandwich cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side. Keep an eye on them so they don’t burn.
06 - Cut each sandwich in half and serve while it’s still warm.

# Notes and Tips:

01 - Let your cheese sit out for 15-20 minutes before assembling to help it melt better.
02 - You can use a panini press if you don’t want to use a skillet.
03 - Adjust the heat as you cook to avoid burning.
