Homemade Easy Pop Tarts (Print Version)

Flaky pastry filled with fruit jelly, topped with glaze and sprinkles. Simple sweet bake in under 25 minutes.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 box pre-made pie crusts (2 pie crusts)
02 - 1 cup fruit jelly of your choice
03 - 1 egg
04 - 1/2 cup powdered sugar
05 - 1-2 teaspoons milk
06 - sprinkles

# Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 425ºF.
02 - Prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
03 - Lay pie crusts on a nonstick surface.
04 - Using a pizza cutter, cut 3” x 5” rectangles.
05 - Place the first 8 rectangles on the prepared baking sheet.
06 - Spoon your fruit jelly onto each rectangle, spreading it to about 1/2 inch from the edges.
07 - Place the next 8 rectangles on top. Using a fork, seal all four edges of each pop tart.
08 - In a small bowl, whisk the egg and brush it onto all 8 pop tarts.
09 - Bake for 6-8 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Allow pop tarts to cool prior to icing them.
10 - In a small mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar and milk. If it is too thin, add more powdered sugar. If it is too thick, add more milk.
11 - Drizzle frosting over the top of the pop tarts and add sprinkles.
