01 -
Cover a baking sheet with either waxed paper, aluminum foil, or parchment paper to create a smooth surface.
02 -
In a large bowl that's safe for the microwave, throw in your candy coating pieces. Heat in the microwave without a lid for about 2 to 3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until nearly melted. Keep stirring until it’s perfectly smooth.
03 -
Put the peppermint candies in a sturdy plastic bag. Smash them using a rolling pin or the bottom of a heavy pot until they’re finely crumbled.
04 -
Use a wire strainer to pour in the crushed candies. Sift over the melted candy coating, letting only the tiniest bits drop into the mix. Keep the bigger chunks aside.
05 -
Give the melted coating a good stir to mix in the fine peppermint bits. Pour this mixture onto the lined baking sheet and spread it out evenly.
06 -
Evenly distribute the larger peppermint pieces over the melted layer.
07 -
Let the bark cool off and firm up at room temperature for about an hour. Once it's set, break it into smaller pieces.
