Pitcher Palomas Grapefruit Tequila (Print Version)

Refreshing palomas with grapefruit, tequila, and lime—ideal for entertaining and sunny outdoor gatherings.

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 cups fresh grapefruit juice, strained (from about 4-5 large grapefruits)
02 - 2 cups blanco tequila
03 - 5 oz fresh lime juice (from ~8 limes)
04 - 3 oz simple syrup
05 - 1/2 tsp salt
06 - 2 cups grapefruit soda or sparkling water/club soda (add just before serving)
07 - Ice
08 - Optional rimming choices: kosher salt, sugar, Tajin, or a mix of chili powder & kosher salt
09 - Optional garnish: grapefruit wedge, fresh mint

# Steps:

01 - Juice the grapefruits and limes, ensuring the grapefruit juice is strained for a smoother finish.
02 - In a 50 oz pitcher, combine grapefruit juice, tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, and salt. Mix well with a bar spoon. Avoid adding soda or excessive ice at this stage to prevent dilution.
03 - Refrigerate the mixed ingredients for at least 1 hour or until ready to serve.
04 - On a small plate, spread your chosen rim dressing (e.g., salt, sugar, Tajin). Rub a grapefruit wedge around the rim of a highball or rocks glass, dip the rim into the dressing, and fill the glass with ice.
05 - Stir the chilled mixture again, pour into prepared glasses until about 2/3 full, and top with grapefruit soda or sparkling water until the glass is filled.
06 - Garnish each glass with a grapefruit wedge and fresh mint before serving.

# Notes and Tips:

01 - To retain optimal fizz, add grapefruit soda right before serving. Consume within a few hours if soda has been added to avoid loss of carbonation.
02 - The base mixture (tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and simple syrup) can be stored in the fridge for up to 2-3 days. Stir well and add soda just before serving.
