Tasty Cajun Chicken Sloppy Joes (Print-Friendly Version)

01 - 1 small onion, diced
02 - 450 g ground chicken
03 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
04 - 1 bell pepper, diced

→ Sauce and Seasonings

05 - 15 g Cajun seasoning
06 - 15 ml Worcestershire sauce
07 - 60 ml ketchup
08 - 5 g smoked paprika
09 - 230 g tomato sauce (1 can, 227 g)
10 - Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

→ Assembly

11 - 15 ml olive oil
12 - 4 hamburger buns

→ Optional Garnishes

13 - Coleslaw (optional)
14 - Shredded cheese (optional)
15 - Sliced pickles (optional)

# How to Make It:

01 - Serve sandwiches hot.
02 - Mix in minced garlic to the skillet. Stir and let it cook for about a minute until you smell it.
03 - Take the bottom halves of the toasted buns and spoon the Cajun chicken mixture on them. If you want, toss on some pickles, cheese, or coleslaw, and finish with the top buns.
04 - Toast the hamburger buns in another skillet or a toaster until they’re golden brown.
05 - Add tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and season it with salt and pepper. Turn down the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes so the flavors can come together.
06 - Stir in the ground chicken to the pan. Cook while breaking it up with a spoon until it’s no longer pink, which will take about 5 to 7 minutes.
07 - In a big skillet, warm olive oil over medium heat. Toss in diced bell pepper and onion. Sauté for around 3 to 4 minutes until they soften.
